I never claimed that my music would exalt God - Spyro

The singer, who took home the 2023 Headies Award for collaboration of the year, stated on his Instagram story in 2023 that he hopes to use his decent, timeless music to change the music industry for the better.
"I am here for a reason, I am God's ambassador here and gradually we will take these grounds for him,"
Spyro said on his Instagram story.

Even though Spyro's music is characterized by secular themes, some listeners categorize him as a gospel artist because of his vocal practice of his Christian religion.

Spyro emphasized that he is not a gospel musician and that he has never claimed that his music will exalt God in a recent interview with Pulse Nigeria. Spyro made it clear that he is not a gospel musician, even though he is a lover of God.

"I don't want to be boxed as a gospel artist. I can do whatever because that's what music is really about - a mode of expression".

Spyro declared that he would create gospel music if he wanted to create music that would exalt God. But he's all for good music that represents his Christian beliefs.
Whether he's praising his partner in "Only Fine Girl," celebrating friendship in "Who Is Your Guy," or giving advice in "Billing," Spyro takes pride in his ability to create good music about whatever he wants to say.
