According to the customs boss, not all land borders are open.

According to Wale Adeniyi, acting comptroller general of the Nigeria Customs Service, not all of the land borders that the federal government closed across Nigeria in 2018 have been reopened. Only six important land borders, according to him, were reopened in 2021.
This was said by Adeniyi on Tuesday following a private meeting with Bola Tinubu at the Aso Villa in Abuja.
The head of Customs informed State House reporters that efforts to examine the situation and achieve border security and regional integration are still ongoing.

The reopening of the borders, he pointed out, will be made public.

Adeniyi bemoaned the difficulty of smuggling fuel across borders and predicted that the elimination of gasoline subsidies and the ensuing rise in fuel prices would eventually dissuade traffickers.
He claims that the government's new rules will lessen the ongoing problem of the essential good being smuggled.

According to the head of customs, the President and he also discussed how to make ports more user-friendly, promote exports, and guarantee 48-hour clearance of cargo near ports.
