Defamation: Emefiele threatens Akpabio with a lawsuit of N25 billion.

The Senate President of Nigeria, Dr. Godwin Ifeanyi Emefiele, has been accused of a series of corruption allegations against him by the government. In a letter to the Senate President, Emefiele claims that the President's comments on the economic situation in Nigeria are a result of the policies of the previous administration and that the government is confused as to which offenses to charge him with.

Emefiele argues that the interpretation of the senate president's comment means that he is a serial offender responsible for the hardship experienced by Nigerians. He also argues that the statement undermines the integrity of the court and its independence, and that it is detrimental to his ongoing trial.

Emefiele, who was a minister in the last administration, criticized the senate president's statement, which had gone viral and is considered defamatory of his character. He argued that without the approval of the President and/or the Federal Executive Council, he could have done nothing on his own. As a senior member of the Bar, a former Governor of a State, Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, and a former Minister under the immediate past Administration, Emefiele believes that the statement attributing the current economic woes solely on Emefiele is appalling and exposes the inaccuracies in his assertions.

Emefiele has instructed the Senate President to retract his statement or risk being sued. He has requested an unreserved apology in writing, published and circulated by the same medium with which Emefiele has defamed his character, and the sum of N25,000,000,000 as reasonable compensation for the willful and unjustifiable denigration of his hard-earned reputation. If the Senate President fails to comply with this legitimate demand, Emefiele will be at liberty to seek the appropriate redress available to him under the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

In conclusion, the Senate President of Nigeria, Dr. Godwin Ifeanyi Emefiele, has been accused of corruption allegations against him by the government. Emefiele has urged the Senate President to retract his statement or face legal consequences.
