Adegoke’s murder: Adeleke denies rumors of a pardon for Adedoyin.

Adegoke was discovered dead in November 2021 in Adedoyin's Hilton Honours Hotel in Ile-Ife, where he had stayed.
On May 31, the Chief Judge of Osun State, Justice Adepele Ojo, ruled that Adedoyin and two hotel employees were guilty of murder.
Ojo, in a two-hour-long decision, found that the circumstantial evidence presented to the court pointed to Adegoke's murder when he was a visitor at Adedoyin's hotel.
In response to the claim, the governor's spokesperson, Olawale Rasheed, stated in a press statement made available to The PUNCH on Monday that there is no plan to pardon the owner of Oduduwa University.

"Reacting to the growing rumour of a possible state pardon for the businessman, Governor Adeleke was quoted as saying that his administration never has and will never intervene in the judicial process, labeling those behind the fake news as public enemies."Governor Adeleke has not and would never consider exercising the prerogative of mercy, or whatever the report refers to, on a case that has piqued the interest of local and global communities.

Adeleke stated that he has no hidden agenda in the aforementioned murder other than to see the perpetrators face the full wrath of the law, adding, "No PDP member is involved as counsel for any of the convicted individuals, and the state judiciary must enjoy and exercise its full independence in the hearing and judgment of cases."

"It is uncharitable for political enemies and their paid agents to attempt any link between the convicted businessman and me," he added.

"We affirm with full responsibility that Governor Adeleke was never a friend or partner of the owner of Oduduwa University and did not interfere, intervene, or manifest any unsavory agenda in the accused's arraignment, hearing, and sentencing."

As a result, he asked the public to disregard persistent rumors of a state pardon for the criminal.
