Al-Hilal's €130m offer for Osimhen is rejected by Napoli.
Victor Osimhen, a Nigerian striker, was the subject of a hefty €130 million offer from Al-Hilal, but Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis rejected it.
In an effort to capture the services of the Nigerian forward, the Saudi team approached Napoli with a sizable offer, supported by the sovereign wealth fund PIF.
This action was taken after they looked into alternative options after their initial interest in Kylian Mbappe of Paris Saint-Germain was met with a cool reception.
Osimhen has attracted a lot of interest from a variety of sources after playing a big part in Napoli's spectacular Scudetto-winning season last year. Osimhen's outstanding efforts were a major factor in the Italian club winning the Serie A championship for the first time in more than three decades.
Al-Hilal reportedly offered De Laurentiis €130 million for the Nigerian international, according to reports from Il Mattino via TMW. Napoli quickly rejected the offer, demonstrating their reluctance to let go of the excellent striker during this summer's transfer window. Instead, Napoli is concentrating on concluding a new, long-term contract with Osimhen in order to guarantee his future with the team. They estimate the player's worth at almost €200 million.
The 26-year-old attacker created a name for himself in Serie A last season, finishing with an incredible 26 goals in just 32 games, leading the league in scoring. He became the first African player in league history to win the renowned Golden Boot award thanks to his outstanding performance.
This summer, a huge inflow of European players entered the Saudi Pro League, all following Cristiano Ronaldo's example and joining the league in December 2022.
