Blogger accused of defaming Guru Maharaj Ji faces charges by police.

However, the 45-year-old Asabe Africa Afrika TV publisher on YouTube entered a not guilty plea to the accusation brought against him.
Dan-Asabe was detained by police authorities on three counts of conspiring against Maharaj Ji, slandering him, and disseminating false information.
Dan-Asabe is accused of conspiring with others to disseminate the defamatory material, according to prosecution attorney ASP M. O. Lawal, who testified in court.
It was stated that the defendant unlawfully published the defamatory information in "Iwe Iroyin Yoruba Tooto" against Satguru Maharaj Ji with the intent to harm his reputation and expose him to hatred.

He claimed, "Asabe published false reports that Satguru Maharaj Ji is a ritualist who sells human body parts for financial rituals, even though they are untrue."
Lawal further stated that the offense was against Section 373 of the Oyo State 2000 Criminal Code Laws and that it was also punishable by Sections 376 and 516.
Kemi Fowosola, the defense attorney, requested that Dan-Asabe be given the longest possible bond.

The defendant was granted bail in the amount of N200,000 with two sureties in the same amount by the magistrate, Mr. Olaolu Olanipekun, who also stipulated that one of the sureties had to be related to the defendant.

Olanipekun, however, postponed the case's hearing until February 22, 2024.
