BREAKING : Buhari and Tinubu meet in the Aso Rock Villa
The President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd.), on Wednesday morning, met with the presidential candidate of the ruling All Progressives Congress, Bola Tinubu, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
At the Presidential Villa in Abuja on Wednesday morning, President Major General Muhammadu Buhari (ret.) met with All Progressives Congress presidential candidate Bola Tinubu.
Senior presidential sources claim that the reason for Buhari's 40-minute delay in getting to the Council Chambers to preside over this week's Federal Executive Council meeting is the meeting, which took place at his official residence.
According to reports, Buhari showed up in the Council Chambers almost an hour after the scheduled time of 10:00 am, or at around 10:40.
The APC staged its campaign event in Eagle Square in Abuja four days prior to this.
Although the purpose of the meeting is unknown, it is probably related to the APC's campaign and the election, which will take place in little over ten days.
Another source who spoke with our correspondent claimed that Buhari's choice to wait was motivated by his desire to see how the Supreme Court would rule regarding the Central Bank of Nigeria's new currency policy.
The hearing was postponed till February 22nd, though.
Buhari then made his way to the Council Chambers, where a number of ministers and cabinet members were waiting.
