BREAKING: JORDI ALBA PART WAYS WITH FC BARCELONA

The current deal for the left back expires in June 2024. However, El Chiringuito stated in recent weeks that he had already accepted an offer from Al-Hilal in Saudi Arabia alongside close pals Lionel Messi and Sergio Busquets.

Alba's camp was anticipated to opt to move on or accept a big salary cut.

According to SPORT, Alba will earn €38 million ($42 million) in 2023/2024, with €20 million ($22 million) deferred due to agreements reached with former president Josep Bartomeu during the pandemic and his successor Joan Laporta as Barcelona attempted to navigate Financial Fair Play limits and register new players and contracts.

However, exactly a fortnight after the Spain international's agents and Barcelona executives met, SPORT reports that Alba has decided to continue his career elsewhere, with a statement from the club anticipated "in the coming hours."

According to transfer market specialist Fabrizio Romano, Alba will leave the Catalans and embark on a "new chapter" as a free agent.

This obviously means that his contract will be terminated, with Laporta and his board reaching a deal on the remaining funds owed to Alba.
