BREAKING: Residents of Ibadan protest against the high expense of living
The capital of Oyo State, Ibadan, saw residents go to the streets on Monday to express their disapproval of the economy and the rapidly rising cost of food.
Protesters were seen congregating in the state's Mokola area, brandishing signs that read, among other things, "Tinubu, don't forget your promises," "End food hike and inflation," and "The poor are starving."
They expressed their complaints by chanting songs as well.
Even as demonstrators organized a nonviolent rally against the withdrawal of the country's gasoline subsidy and the resulting economic hardship, armed police officers were visible at the scene.
