Breaking: Sanwo-Olu's election is upheld by the Supreme Court

Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, the Labour Party's candidate in the election, bases the majority of his argument on Sanwo-Olu's eligibility as running mate.
He asserted that Obafemi Hamzat, the deputy governor, had given up his Nigerian citizenship. The court determined that Sanwo-Olu's deputy was born in Nigeria.
The court further stated that the Nigerian president must register the renounciation of citizenship of a citizen by birth and noted that the appellant had not produced any proof to that effect.

However, the Labour Party candidate's appeal was rejected by the court due to its lack of merit.

On the PDP's side, Abdulazeez Adediran, also referred to as Jandor, argued that Sanwo-Olu's name on his WAEC certificate was not the same as the one he presented to INEC.
