ELECTION 2023: Bayelsa records election officials' and materials' tardy arrival

At some polling places in Yenagoa LGA of Bayelsa State, voter accreditation had not begun as of 8:48am.

Atissa Ward 4's voting places 1 and 2 and Epie Ward 3's Fakulu Primary School are two of them.

As of 8:33am, according to our correspondent, sensitive materials were still being handed from the RAC Atissa 1, Ward 1 to the local voting locations.

Few voters and observers were observed queuing while under the heavy supervision of police officers at certain polling locations where Independent National Electoral Commission officials and electoral materials had not yet arrived.

In the capital of Bayelsa State, police officers and military have set up checkpoints at stretches of the abandoned Mbiama-Yenagoa Road and Isaac Boro Expressway.
