According to AFP, hundreds of supporters of the coup in Niger gathered on Thursday for a large rally in the nation's capital, Niamey, with some waving enormous Russian flags.
Following a request from a coalition of civil society organizations on the day commemorating the nation's independence from France in 1960, the protesters gathered at the city's Independence Square.
