G-5 governments are not backing Tinubu-Jang
Jonah Jang berated Governor Simon Lalong over his claim that the G-5 governors were supporting Bola Tinubu.
The Director-General of the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council, Governor Simon Lalong, has come under fire from a member of the Integrity Group and a former governor of Plateau State named Jonah Jang for his assertion that the G-5 governors under the leadership of Nyesom Wike were supporting the party's presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu.
In a statement on Sunday, Jang responded to the claim by saying that Nigerians no longer take anything coming from Lalong seriously.
He thought that the G5 PDP governors and allies, including former Governor Jang, were backing Tinubu, which is an obvious indicator that Lalong is daydreaming, according to the statement, which was signed by his media consultant, Clinton Garuba.
"They have stated time and time again that they do not have issues with Atiku Abubakar personally, but rather with the procedure that produced him as the candidate for the People's Democratic Party.
"Yes, the integrity group has issues with the PDP, but it does not mean that they support the APC candidate in any manner, despite the fact that they have withdrawn their support for Atiku's campaign. Only Lalong and the other visionaries hold this opinion.
According to a source, the PDP leadership and the disgruntled governors, Wike of Rivers State, Samuel Ortom of Benue, Ifeanyi Ugwanyi of Enugu, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia, and Seyi Makinde of Oyo, have been at odds over the zoning of the party's top positions.
