Imam warns Muslims not to borrow money to purchase a salah ram.

Malam Muhammad Adewoyin, the chief imam of the Ar-razzaq Mosque at Tanke in Ilorin, has forbade Muslims from borrowing money in order to fulfill their religious obligation to sacrifice an animal during Salah.
Adewoyin said to reporters on Tuesday that offering an animal as sacrifice during Salah is a representation of submission and devotion to Allah.

"Taking out a loan to fulfill this duty puts oneself under needless financial strain. Salah is not a chance to flaunt consumerism or wealth, he remarked.

The cleric, who also serves as the University of Ilorin's Principal Assistant Registrar, asserted that it is well known that gathering with friends and family during the Salah period is permitted by Islam.

Muslims are, nevertheless, encouraged to exercise restraint when celebrating the Salah.

Adewoyin also made the point that Muslims are not need to buy brand-new clothing or spend extravagantly just to observe Salah.

He asked all Muslims in the nation to practice general wisdom while enjoying the holiday.
