Kano State Governor Abdullahi Ganduje criticized the Peoples Democratic Party and the New Nigeria Peoples Party for supporting the Central Bank of Nigeria's currency redesign policy.

According to a statement from his chief press secretary, Abba Anwar, the governor made the comment on Monday at the Open Theatre, Government House, to kick off the distribution of palliatives to ameliorate the hardships brought on by the lack of naira notes.

"To our astonishment, opposition parties supported and defended the CBN in this anti-people and out-of-date stance by taking the matter to court. The timing and manner in which that was done were not ideal. The PDP-controlled governors of Bayelsa and Edo are leading the way in this error.

Also, the NNPP came up and claimed that the governor of Kano State was mistaken in his rejection of the CBN's naira swap.
The truth is that all Nigerians are suffering greatly as a result of this anti-human and foolish phenomenon, Ganduje questioned.

He continued, "The PDP and the NNPP want people to remain mired in poverty. We won't cease holding the CBN responsible for this economic error. We adore the folks here. Consequently, until the correct channel and good timing are put forward, anything that will disrupt their wellbeing must be rejected.

The APC presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, told Nigerians that, if elected, he would put an end to the current hardships brought on by the CBN.
Regarding the delivery of palliatives, the governor explained that the state government was doing so to lessen the impact of the hardships brought on by willful interference with Nigerians' well-being.

"Neither did we invite this circumstance, nor did we ask for it. We consequently don't welcome it in any way. Similar palliatives were administered during COVID-19.

"And today COVID-23, brought on by the CBN, is a problem for our citizens. We initially believed it to be a straightforward illness, but regrettably it turned out to be a highly dangerous infection spreading quickly," he bemoaned.

He continued, "The malware originating from the CBN has compromised all of our commercial banks, our point of sale systems, our ATMs, and everything else connected to this. We are most impacted by this regrettable trend since we are the most populated state in the nation.

The governor said that residents of the state's 44 local government areas will benefit from the palliatives.

"Today's ceremony is merely the distribution's official launch. To lessen the consequences of the COVID-23 virus that infects the CBN, we will continue to offer free transportation to our people starting today," he stated.
