The N500 billion palliative offered by President Bola Tinubu has been rejected by the Nigeria Labour Congress and the Trade Union Congress, who claim that it is woefully insufficient to ease the hardships faced by workers as a result of the elimination of fuel subsidies. To help workers deal with the difficulties brought on by the poor economic situation that followed the elimination of the contentious gasoline subsidy, they are requesting a 300 percent pay rise.
