A judge has halted the release of Tinubu's academic records to Atiku.

Jeffrey Gilbert, a magistrate in Nigeria, has ordered the CSU to comply with Atiku's subpoenas until Monday. The documents sought by Atiku include his admission and acceptance records, dates of attendance, degrees, awards, and honors at the university. However, the president's attorneys argued that the earlier decision by Gilbert needed to be reviewed by a district judge.

Coordinator of Tinubu Presidential Legal Team, Babatunde Ogala, stated that the request was for a review against Monday for the judge to pronounce. He emphasized that the US magistrate does not have the power to give an order given to the university to release non-privileged information, and that he can only make a recommendation. The Senior Advocate of Nigeria argued that the court did not grant an order to release the information because they brought his application for admission.

Few hours after Ogala spoke with our correspondent, his request for a review and delay of the order till Monday was granted by the US district judge. In the emergency hearing, Maldonado disclosed that she would rule on the matter as quickly as possible due to legal deadlines in Nigeria. She said that she will have a busy weekend and that the issue is of process and rules.

Tinubu has departed New York after attending the 78th session of high-level meetings of the UN General Assembly, where he addressed world leaders on the relevance of democracy and stressed that military coups are wrong. He arrived at the event in the company of the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, the Permanent Representative of Nigeria to the UN, Tijjani Muhammad-Bande, and the Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.
