Government of Niger dissolves state election commission
The State Independent Electoral Commission has been disbanded by Niger State Governor Umar Bago.
Alhaji Abubakar Usman, the state government's secretary, said this in a statement on Sunday in Minna.
He stated that the dissolution began on May 29.
The announcement read, "Members of the commission are directed to deliver all State property in their possession to the most senior Director with immediate effect."
According to the News Agency of Nigeria, the Niger State House of Assembly dismissed Alhaji Baba Aminu, the NSIEC Chairman, on September 27, 2022 due to alleged wrongdoing.
