Group claims smear campaign against Gbajabiamila
On Monday, the Asiwaju Tinubu Mandate Forum accused some lawmakers of attempting to organize a "smear campaign" against the President's Chief of Staff, Femi Gbajabiamila.
In a statement issued by its National Coordinator, Adelowo Oluwasesan, the organization accused some "desperate politicians" of allowing themselves to be used as weapons to destabilize President Bola Tinubu's administration.
"After sponsoring numerous pointless articles and propaganda on the pages of newspapers against Rt. Hon. Gbajabiamila, our findings revealed that these desperate politicians are a cabal opposed to this administration's subsidy removal, tax reform, and currency rate unification agenda." They do not wish well for this government and have planned yet another method of policy sabotage by organizing a protest calling for the President's Chief of Staff to be fired.
"While we acknowledge the right of citizens to a peaceful protest, we condemned in totality the one sponsored to bring down a man who has been a stabilizing factor to the current administration of Bola Tinubu and the renewed hope agenda of the ruling party" the statement went on to say.
In order to avoid public unrest, the group also urged security agencies to constantly watch the situation.
"We emphasize that groups or persons who engage in actions that could lead to civil unrest or destruction of properties should not be spared, and the full wrath of the law should be applied accordingly."
