CASEMIRO is uncertain for Thursday's Europa League match between Manchester United and Real Betis.
Since joining the Red Devils in the summer for £70 million from Real Madrid, the Brazilian has been a crucial member of the team. But, he was unable to save United from being destroyed 7-0 by Liverpool on Sunday.
Casemiro was hurt against the Reds, according to ESPN.
On the 77th minute, Marcel Sabitzer came on as a substitute.
Before United's Europa League round of 16 first leg match against Betis at Old Trafford, Casemiro will be examined by medical personnel.
He has participated in each of the Red Devils' eight Europa League games so far this season.
The seasoned star was crucial to his team's exhilarating 4-3 victory over Barcelona on the whole.
But, he might end up on the operating table alongside fellow midfielders Donny van de Beek and Christian Eriksen.
With Eriksen's injury, Fred has mostly filled in for the Danish player.
If Casemiro were absent, Fred might be partnered in the middle by either Scott McTominay or January newcomer Sabitzer.
In his 35 games for United thus far, Casemiro has contributed five goals and five assists while also helping the team win the Carabao Cup, their first trophy in over six years.
