In Enugu, soldiers detain 140 thugs.
140 thugs with weapons and ammunition were reportedly apprehended by soldiers providing security for the gubernatorial and House of Assembly elections in Enugu State in the university town of Nsukka in the Nsukka Local Government Area.
According to sources who spoke to our correspondent, the criminals were picked up Saturday morning at 7:30 am at the well-known Nsukka hotel in Carolina.
In the Independent National Electoral Commission office in Nsukka, three criminals were also detained.
The thugs, who were fully armed with weapons like AK-47 rifles, confessed to having been sent by the local government chairman, Walter Ozioko, a security source claims.
As this was happening, attempts to reach Ozioko were fruitless since he was unable to pick up his phone.
