Joshua's coach denies fighting Wilder
Derrick James, Anthony Joshua's trainer, has commented on the mounting rumors that his client will fight American knockout artist Deontay Wilder later this year.
At one point, it was predicted that Joshua and Wilder would square off to determine the undisputed heavyweight champion. Both guys have since lost their belts as a result of those failed negotiations.
Without the constraints of obligatory challengers, the matchmaking still appears to be the most exciting that the division has to offer.
Saudi Arabia has shown a strong desire to host the fight this year and is believed to have made significant progress in achieving so. Their ambitious ambitions to stage Tyson Fury vs. Oleksandr Usyk as part of their heavyweight scene intervention.
After his first defeat to Oleksandr Usyk, "AJ" ended his relationship with longtime trainer Rob McCracken. He tried to team up with Robert Garcia for the rematch, but it failed as well, so he turned to James for advice.
Together, the two have fought once, winning by unanimous decision against Jermaine Franklin in April.
