Obasa Re-Elected As Lagos State Speaker

The Speaker of the 10th Lagos State House of Assembly, Dr Mudashiru Ajayi Obasa, has been re-elected.

Obasa is a six-term legislator who represents the Agege 01 seat. After being elected speaker for the first time in 2015, he will preside over the assembly for the third time. After Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu issued the proclamation for the House, he was nominated by the member representing Ifako Ijaiye 01, Hon Adewale Temitope Adedeji.
According to Channels Television, Obasa's nomination, which was seconded by Epe II legislator Ogunkelu Sylvester Oluwadahunsi, was unanimous.
The Lagos State House of Assembly has 40 members. The ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) controls it with 38 members, while the Labour Party has two.

While 20 members are returning, the remaining 20 are first-term legislators.
