According to research by The PUNCH, Nigeria's overall public debt could reach N118.37 trillion over the next three years. The amount was calculated by examining the debt profiles of Nigeria as of right now and as projected by the Medium Term Expenditure Framework and Fiscal Strategy Paper 2024–2026. The Federal Government intends to borrow N26.42 trillion between 2024 and 2026, under the updated MTEF/FSP.
