Togolese and others are paraded by the NSCDC in Ibadan for allegedly stealing street light cables.

They were apprehended on Friday, July 28, around 2:00 a.m. in the Nihort Ile-Titun area of Ibadan, according to the state Public Relations Officer, Oyindamola Okuneye, who paraded the suspects before the newsmen on behalf of the state Commandant, Michael Adaralewa, at the Command headquarters in Ibadan, the state capital.

According to the Commandant, the suspects acknowledged carrying out similar activities in July, during which they vandalized and then sold the cable in the same location for N40,000.

Opeyemi Aanuoluwa, 24, was also paraded by the command for allegedly stealing a tricycle from the Ita-Akinloye neighborhood of Oje in Ibadan.
According to Adaralewa, "On August 15, 2023, at approximately 0600 hours in the Akinloye neighbourhood of Oje in Ibadan, a suspect named Anuoluwa stole a tricycle and damaged some of the tricycle before he could drive it away. The tricycle was eventually located by an Oyo officer who was at Iseyin that day thanks to the tracker that was mounted on it.

The individuals admitted to the crimes they were accused of during their individual interviews.

"I was led to steal the tricycle by the devil's handiwork, and I can say that I did it because I really don't have a job at hand to do," Anuoluwa added. I'm very sorry for what I did, but I chose to steal the trike when I spotted it so I could use it to hustle.
