Following the dawn prayers at the Grand Mosque, prayers were reportedly held for about twenty deceased people.

Following the Fajr prayers, there were two funeral prayers.

Ibrahim, who led Yobe State from 1991 to 1992 and 1999 to 2007 before holding three terms in the Senate, passed away on Sunday at the age of 75 while undergoing treatment in Saudi Arabia. Buni conveyed her sincere grief over the passing.

The Director General of Press and Media Affairs, Buni, discussed the influence Ibrahim had on the nation and its citizens in a statement, calling his demise a "huge loss."

He asked friends of the state and Yobe residents to pray for the senator's everlasting resting place.

"The late senator was a significant role in Nigeria's political scene for many years, therefore his passing is a loss not only to Yobe but to the entire country. Efforts to better the lives of his residents and to promote stability and progress in the area characterized his time as senator and governor, according to Buni.
