Chelsea considering new Romelu Lukaku transfer bid from Inter Milan
Romelu Lukaku's current offer has apparently been resubmitted by Inter Milan, but Chelsea would suffer a significant loss if it were accepted.
The Belgian forward returned to Stamford Bridge in 2021 after leaving for Italy for a staggering £97.5 million.
However, he was sent back to the Serie A team on loan last season following just one trying season at the Blues.
Lukaku spent the previous season on loan at Inter, making 37 games and scoring 14 goals.
Inter wants to keep the 30-year-old forward desperately after he assisted them in reaching the Champions League final.
However, because of their precarious financial situation, they are refusing to accept Chelsea's asking price, which has significantly decreased.
We previously reported that the West London club is willing to sell Lukaku for just £40 million, which is roughly £60 million less than the club record sum that was used to acquire him.
According to reports, Inter has already had a transfer offer for the promising young player rejected.
According to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, they have now filed a second one for almost £25.7 million.
"Inter have submitted a second bid worth €30 million to sign Romelu Lukaku," he tweeted.
"Chelsea and Inter will talk in the upcoming hours to decide how to handle the Lukaku problem.
There is currently no likelihood for the Saudi relocation because he wants to stay in Europe.
At the age of 17, Lukaku left Anderlecht for Chelsea, but after three years and two loan stints, he transferred to Everton.
The attacker made his Serie A scoring reputation after stints with Manchester United and Inter.
He returned to London as a result, but Lukaku stated midway through the season that he was uneasy there.
That turned out to be his final straw, and five months later he returned to Milan.
Now, Saudi club Al-Hilal and fellow Serie A team Juventus are also interested in signing him this summer.
According to reports, Juve and Chelsea spoke last week about a possible transfer for the striker. The Italian goliaths, though, were reportedly indignant over his asking price.
Al Hilal of the Saudi Super League made him an incredible £21 million-per-year offer, but the star player said that he wanted to stay in Europe.
