CRSIS IN NIGER STATE: Terrorists kill a pregnant woman and four others while kidnapping 50 people.
Bandits in Niger State have killed five persons, including a very pregnant woman, in Rafi Local Government Area of the state.
The bandits who invaded Agwa hamlet in Rafi LGA on Tuesday afternoon entered the community and shot sporadically, killing their victims.
An eyewitness, Mallam Audu, who talked with our correspondent, said the bandits were carrying out the attack when they were engaged in a fire duel with a military squad on patrol.
"The bandits just entered our community and started shooting, people started to run for their lives in the process, and roughly six people were slain.
"While they were firing, they also caught several people and had to escape out of the town when the army arrived and engaged them in a gunfight.
"The soldiers' firing was too much for the bandits, and they had to flee into the forest," Audu explained.
He claimed that more than 50 individuals were taken, and that several locals were hurt while fleeing to safety.
