HAPPY BIRTHDAY: Tinubu praises Osinbajo, at 66.

Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, the president-elect, congratulated Vice President Yemi Osinbajo on his 66th birthday on Wednesday.

Tinubu's message of congratulations comes one week after the vice president congratulated him on winning the presidential election on February 25.

Osinbajo has portrayed the president-elect as a bridge builder, with the immediate task of reaching out to disenchanted sectors of the population and meeting the expectations of the youth.

But, it was the former governor of Lagos State's turn to repay the gesture on Wednesday.

The president-elect praised his former protégé's administrative skills and professional accomplishments as an academic and erudite lawyer, which saw him serve successfully as Attorney General and Commissioner for Justice during his administration as Lagos governor, in a statement released by his media officer, Tunde Rahman.

"I rejoice and celebrate with our Vice President, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, on becoming 66 today," he added. Professor Osinbajo has been a brilliant scholar in public service since joining me as Attorney-General and Commissioner for Justice in Lagos. He made significant contributions to our administration's achievements and led our justice sector reforms.

“As the Vice President of our country, Professor Osinbajo has partnered very well with our leader, President Muhammadu Buhari, to deliver on the progressive programmes of our party to make life better for Nigerians especially in areas of massive infrastructural development and life-changing Social Investment Programmes.

“On this special day, I join his immediate family, friends and political associates to wish him continuous good health. Many happy returns dear Professor Osinbajo.”
