MANCHESTER UNITED supporters have pleaded with David de Gea to return after he reconnected with a former teammate.
The goalie posed for a photo with Bruno Fernandes as he looks for a new club. De Gea has been out of work since his contract with Manchester United terminated in the summer.
In recent weeks, he has teased supporters with a possible return, even traveling to United earlier this month to watch the women's team play.
The Spaniard had returned to the city to clean away his belongings and had even hooked up with current Red Devil Sergio Reguilon while he was there.
After De Gea posted a selfie with Fernandes, fans are once again calling for his return.
De Gea and Fernandes posed in the colors of their eSports team, Rebels Gaming, on X, formerly Twitter. De Gea established the team in 2021, and Fernandes and Juan Mata later became shareholders.
De Gea captioned the photo, "Together again."
Fans were quick to demand his return, with one saying, "Get back to the team." We have a lot of work ahead of us."
Another person said, "Manchester United needs you, bro."
A third supporter added, "Bring him back."
De Gea has been unable to find a new club since leaving United and has reportedly considering retiring at the age of 32.
He made 545 appearances and won eight major trophies during his 12 years at Old Trafford, including a league title and the Europa League.
