'Equalizer 3' bumps 'Kesari' to third place at the Nigerian box office
As Equalizer 3 tops the Nigerian box office, it knocks Kesari and Blue Bettle down a spot.
The weekend after its release, Equalizer 3 topped the Cinema Exhibitors Association of Nigeria (CEAN)'s recent box office list in Nigeria. Denzel Washington's American vigilante action movie earned a total of 27,634,904 over its opening weekend.
Kesari, which is currently in its second week at the Nigerian box office, debuted at the top with a total of 21 million in its opening weekend. The film starring Ibrahim Yekini ended up earning the most money in Nollywood for the weekend of August 25–27, 2023.
The Yoruba epic briefly held the top spot, but Blue Bettle quickly overtook it in its second week at the box office with over 45 million. It finished its third week in theaters in second place with 13 million and a cumulative total of 90 million.
With 11 million following its second week at the Nigerian box office and a total of 41 million, Kesari is now ranked third on the chat. The audience was really intrigued by Yekini's recent captivating performance in Jagun Jagun and indicated a want to see more of his ventures. In Kesari, a guy who was first a divinity and then a criminal discovers himself.
