MANCHESTER UNITED will not appeal Casemiro's red card against Southampton.

Anthony Taylor, the referee, initially intended to give the midfielder a yellow card, but after reviewing the VAR monitor, he decided against it.

After the game, Erik ten Hag yelled at Taylor, but according to a club statement, United has opted not to appeal to the FA.

Once Casemiro was dismissed at Crystal Palace last month, the Red Devils also made the decision to do nothing.

Due to his first red card of the season, Casemiro will now face a four-match suspension.

The Brazilian will miss Sunday's FA Cup quarterfinal match against Fulham as well as matches against Everton, Brentford, and Newcastle.

Following Casemiro's dismissal, Ten Hag lamented the lack of continuity in the Premier League while praising his stellar discipline record when playing for Real Madrid.

The United manager stated: "That is contradictory. The referees arrive at the beginning of the season with the following policy: We are the Premier League, we want intensity, and Casemiro, in more than 500 European games, has never received a red card, but now, twice. He is fair but plays tough.

"It's highly disputed, just as with Crystal Palace. That looks horrible when frozen [Sunday's challenge].

"Casemiro is a fair player, and everyone who knows anything about football knows what is good and what is terrible.

"Tough yet fair, and it demonstrates that he was never sent off in more than 500 games in the major leagues. He is dissatisfied.
