Nigeria Election 2023: Atiku declares, "I am confident of winning"

The presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, on Saturday boasted that he would succeed the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd).

He expressed optimism after he voted at his 012 Ajiya Ward in the Yola North Local Government Area of Adamawa State.

Atiku, accompanied by his first wife, Titi Abubakar, left his Dougirie-Jimetta residence at exactly 9 AM and arrived at his polling unit seven minutes later.

Struggling for space amid surging human traffic, the former Vice President was successfully accredited by officials of the Independent National Electoral Commission at 9:10 AM and cast his vote at 9:15 AM.

Atiku came at the voting location wearing a white-green babanriga and a matching cap in a Land Cruiser GX-R Aero Sports Utility Vehicle with the license plate JAD 263 KJ. He was followed by a retinue of domestic helpers and associates in ten other SUVs. e voted at 9:15 AM after arriving at the National Electoral Commission at 9:10.
Shortly after casting his ballot, Atiku spoke to reporters and expressed confidence in his chances of winning.
I'm extremely confident we'll win, he declared. He briefly discussed the cash crunch as well, calling it "a great step in addressing vote-buying across the country."


After then, he has retired to his home. Also, a news conference is scheduled to start at 2:30 PM.
