Provedel, the Lazio goalkeeper, strikes an unbelievable equalizer in the 95th minute.
LAZIO goalkeeper Ivan Provedel scored a last-gasp equalizer against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League. The Italian scored in the dying seconds to take a share of the spoils and upset Atletico Madrid.
At the Stadio Olimpico, the Spanish visitors were set to take all three points with Pablo Barrios' first half strike. However, with 95 minutes remaining, the 29-year-old shotkeeper ventured forward to join the attack for one last throw of the dice at a set-piece. The initial corner was cleared by the Atletico defence, but it fell straight back to the taker, who then pushed the ball to Luis Alberto. The attacker whipped in a dangerous in-swinging cross from out on the left, and it sailed over everybody until the leaping Provedel met it and glanced home a header past his opposite number Jan Oblak. However, the Lazio hero managed to keep his composure and raced back towards his own half for the restart. His unbelievable moment has etched his name into the Champions League history by becoming only the second goalkeeper to score from open play in the competition. The clip went viral on social media, with fans praising Morata's good timing and penalty box movement.
