The Federal Polytechnic Ado Ekiti Alumni Erect N150 Million Hostels

Abiodun Oyedokun, the national president of the alumni association, recently handed over hotels in Ado Ekiti and regretted the lack of suitable dorm facilities for the institution's students. He made an appeal to well-meaning Nigerians and former students to come to the institution's aid.

He bemoaned the suffering that the town's transportation issues cause the students, the bulk of whom lived off-campus.

The alumni expressed their commitment to making sure all students resided on campus.

The two dormitories, which each have four rooms, are named for two graduates: Dr. Hephzibah Oladebeye, the first National President of the alumni association and the institution's most recent rector, and Mrs. Rita Aboloma, a dead member of the association.
A 39-room, two-story hostel facility, projected to cost N800 million, will be built by the alumni and will be named after Kano State Governor, Umar Ganduje, a former chairman of the institution's governing council who, according to Oyedokun, had a significant impact on the school.
The institution urgently needs dormitories and classrooms, the alumni president declared. There are approximately 15,000 FPA students enrolled at the moment.

They cannot be contained by the current facilities the school has. Our goal is for our students to live on campus.

"We strongly believe the government alone cannot take care of all the needs of the school, which is why the Alumni have to support the government in all areas in the development of the school," Oyedokun said in an appeal to well-meaning Nigerians and former students for financial assistance to meet the school's housing needs.

He praised the Federal Government for choosing Dr. Temitope Alake, the current rectory, and Dr. Oladebeye, the previous rectory, as the school's successive rectors. He claimed that this choice had a significant positive impact on the school's growth.
